Celosia plumosa, commonly known as cockscomb or plumed celosia, is a striking flowering plant known for its unique, feathery flower heads that resemble a plume or a comb. This annual plant is part of the Amaranthaceae family and is widely cultivated for its ornamental value in gardens and landscapes.
Celosia plumosa thrives in full sun and requires at least 6 hours of direct sunlight each day for optimal growth and flowering.
Seed Sowing:
1. Fill the seedling tray with good quality media and sprinkle with water.
2. Lightly press the media in each plug of the seedling tray to make a hole.
3. Place the seed in each hole then lightly cover with the media.
4. Sprinkle again with water.
Transplanting:
1. Dig a hole in the soil and plant the seedlings.
2. Immediately Irragate or water the seedlings after transplanting.
3. To mininimize transplanting stress, plant during cloudy days late in the afternoon.
