The okra plant (Abelmoschus esculentus) is a warm-season vegetable known for its unique, edible pods and attractive foliage.
Prefers well-drained, fertile soil with a pH level between 6.0 and 6.8. Adding organic matter can improve soil fertility.
Seed Sowing:
1. Fill the seedling tray with good-quality media and sprinkle with water.
2. Lightly press the media in each plug of the seedling tray to make a hole.
3. Place the seed in each hole then lightly cover it with the media.
4. Sprinkle again with water.
Transplanting:
1. Dig a hole in the soil and plant the seedlings.
2. Immediately irrigate or water the seedlings after transplanting.
3. To minimize transplanting stress, plant during cloudy days late in the afternoon.
