HOW TO USE OSMOCOTE

Use the enclosed scoop for correct dosage. If no rain falls within 48 hours after applying Osmocote, water the soil. This starts the controlled release of plant foods.

  1. Ornamental and cutflowers - Prior to planting or sowing sprinkle 40-60g/sq.m of Osmocote evenly to the soil surface.
  2. Bedding Plants - Prior to sowing sprinkle 40-60g/sq.m of Osmocote evenly to the soil surface.
  3. Plotted Plants - Apply/Mix 2-3g of Osmocote (14-14-14/15-9-12) per liter of media/soil.

A fertilizer with an N:P:K ratio of 10-10-10 indicates a complete or balanced fertilizer that contains 10 percent nitrogen, 10 percent phosphorus and 10 percent potassium. Larger numbers such as 14-14-14/15-9-12 indicate a complete fertilizer with larger amounts of nutrients. In general, Osmocote fertilizers are not flippantly used across large expanses of the garden. Focus Osmocote fertilizer usage on fast-growing plants grown from spring to fall, or for healthy houseplants. Osmocote prills slowly release nutrients as long as the soil temperatures remain below 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
